Summer vacation was a lovely time for many of the students and staff alike. For Tiberius it led to a break from the constant paperwork, and managing the students. He loved his job, but the breaks were very welcome. He had already had quite a busy summer, but he was looking forward to having a quiet month before Hogwarts would start back up. It would mostly consist of a few outings, gathering up supplies and relaxing before he really had to prepare for the year ahead of him.
One of the downsides of being away from Hogwarts from the summer was that he wasn't physically close to where several of his friends were. He always got so used to wandering down the hall if he wanted to chat. Of course he could write a letter and send it, but it wasn't the same as actually being in the same room and chatting.
Which was why he was glad he had arranged to meet one of his longest friends for lunch. He had known Meissa since she had come to live with her uncle and aunt. His grandparents had seen her as a suitable playmate, and so they had several interactions as children. They had grown closer still during their time at Hogwarts, with the stigma that came with their last names, her more than him. They had stayed close after and now they were both on staff at Hogwarts. It was nice having someone he could unload on every now and again, and he hoped she felt the same.
They had decided to meet at The Three Broomsticks, which worked well for him, given he could run up to the castle and drop a couple of things off after their lunch. He arrived at the pub a little early, and since it appeared she hadn't arrived yet, he grabbed a table for the two of them. While waiting for her to arrive he started to browse the menu.
When she did arrive he smiled and stood to give her a hug. "Bonjour mon cher ami."
