It was one of those typical September mornings. Cold fog laid on the ground and a chill in the air. Thorpe sat up in bed and fluffed his bead head. He was glad that it was a weekend. He loved lazy weekends. Chatting to people in the common room catching up on schoolwork without the pressure of getting it done. As he sat and looked at the fog ridden grounds. Did he debate getting up to go to breakfast or just sit by the fire with books and a cup of tea? His eyes wandered around the bedroom as a few of his roommates had got up and where already going about their day. Stretching he swing his legs down and plodded to his trunk pulling some soft, lazy day clothes out and slipping them on before throwing his pillow at the remaining sleeping body to wake them. ‘Wakey wakey eggs and baky’ he said in a jingle before grabbing a few books and schoolwork and heading to the common room. It wasn't early but not too late in the morning so he hoped his comfy place next to the fire hadn't been taken already. It was ideal. Next to a window for daydreaming glances, but near enough to the fire to get a toasty left side.
Thorpe was in luck, there was hardly anyone in the common room really in relation to the size of the house. He made a beeline for his sport and made himself at home spreading books and papers around him. Before brewing up a cup of tea. He lazily stirred the tea as he looked out of the window. He didn't hope for any action but he hoped someone would come and chat soon. He thought homework as boring as it was is better done with other people to bounce ideas off and just generally have a chat with. Though you could say going to the study hall would be a better place for that however could you lounge around and have the to overhear Hanna telling the girls she had broken up with her boyfriend for the fifth time this week were just too different. He cracked a smile to himself. Some of the younger students did make him laugh. He sipped at his piping hot tea. Taking in the room.
