|Autumn was the season that transitioned Summer towards Winter and it was in fact one of Arielle’s more loved seasons. The weather was always something that the young Gryffindor was interested in as it helped determine how she would play on match days. The quidditch players at Hogwarts played in the scorching hot sun and the most freezing conditions, they had all the right equipment to do so even if it was particularly dangerous. Autumn happened to be excellent conditions to play it, it was usually cloudy which helped shield the sun from your eyes and the wind was quite calm during the September month, this would almost certainly help with flying, nobody enjoyed flying in the wind. |
It had been a few days since the students had returned to Hogwarts but classes weren’t due to start until next week so most of the students used this time to settle back in to their schedules. It also helped if you’d forgotten anything, you could simply pop down to Hogsmeade and collected anything you might’ve forgotten. It was rare for Arielle to be organised but this year she had made sure she had everything in advance, it was after all her fifth year which meant she needed to be prepared for her OWLs. The trunk at the end of her bed was full of all the necessary books, several pots of ink and a few quills. All her clothes were nicely folded in the wardrobe provided and some of the more delicate items that could crease were hung up accordingly.
Arielle smoothed the creases out of her bed after she had awoken making sure her bed was made to a good standard, depending on the prefect they would moan about how untidy the girls sleeping quarters could be. The young brunette pulled on a pair of gym leggings before she pulled her training jersey over her head which had the number six on, along with her surname on the back. The young gryffindor collected her arm and shin pads, strapping them to the relevant areas before she picked up her broom and left the Gryffindor common room.
Usually Arielle would stop for breakfast but as it was only eight in the morning, she knew breakfast would be served until ten so she had plenty of time to train before she became hungry. After making her way down the ever changing stairs she ventured out into the castle grounds and headed toward the training grounds hoping that no other quidditch players would be there, mostly the opposing houses. It was fine if a fellow Gryffindor was training but she didn’t want to train in front of the other houses in case they picked up any tips. After walking onto the training grounds she was relieved to see no one else had the same idea as she did, even though it was early and very unlikely any of the other students had the same idea.
Carefully she leaned her broomstick up against the side before she tied her long brunette hair into a tight ponytail, adjusting her jersey before she mounted her broom. During her first day she had gotten some practice in but since then Arielle had mostly been catching up with her peers but know she had caught up with nearly everyone so felt she could get some practice in before classes officially started.
