The idea of camping was not Leo’s cup of tea. The fact that he had a tent set up amidst the many didn’t settle well with him either. There was an abundance of noises and a mixture of magic ‘n muggle alike (granted charms could keep it out but that was not the point). For the first time in Quidditch World Cup history they shared the event with the world. And Leo? The unknown left him uncomfortable.
He wasn’t opposed to sharing what they had but he certainly held his reservations about giving an easily spooked society access to damn near everything. All the research in the world couldn’t predict the outcome- which made him nervous. The muggle curiosity was evident and Leo respected the urge to learn. He himself loved learning and spent most nights with his nose in a book.
In his philosophy it was better to know all sides of the argument before making a call.
His wife on the other hand was…let’s call it opinionated. She was strong in her beliefs, clever enough to back them up and very convincing. So convincing in fact that it caused Leo to fall off his carefully nurtured neutral line and lean left. Her left.
Avoiding the calamity of run amok witches, wizards and muggles was nearly impossible.
Finding Leo wearing something other than a suit even after sunset wasn’t likely.
He was only at this event because of The Press and what it would do for his career to be seem at such a historic moment.
Their tent was simple on the outside and massive beyond the door. It was comfortable to say the least and there wasn’t enough tea to cure the restlessness in his bones.
His wife was…socializing. Somewhere. So he had time.
Leo shed his long coat and undid his tie. His cufflinks were the next to go before rolling up his sleeves and after leaving a note on the table he went out for a walk.
He just needed to get to the outskirts of the camp site. The greenery surrounding it should be quiet enough. Normally when he felt like this he needed a good run but a walk around the hills should suffice.
